     How is CQI helping Matewan, West Virginia? 

     CQI and Dr. Pat Garland have teamed together to
ignite a passion for helping the beautiful people of
Matewan come to understand the message and love of Christ. 
This past Christmas, this "team" formed a diligent
mission to Matewan which fed over 100 families.

     Dr. Garland was the director for the Southern Baptist
Home Missions Board for all of the state of W.V.
until he retired a few years ago.  He and his wife
opened up a bed and breakfast in Matewan.
Growing up in the W.V. mountains, he is keenly aware
of the diverse needs of the isolated people
in Appalachia. With his love for Christ and his
compassion for people, Dr. Garland is a superb
addition to the Churchquake International team
and we are most grateful for all that he
does for the kingdom of God.
